Book Review: Tunisian Crochet by Sharon Silverman

I had the pleasure of meeting Sharon Silverman a few years ago when she asked me to contribute designs for her book, "Beyond the Basics: Crocheting". I enjoyed my experience working with Sharon. Her attention to detail is second to none. I designed a beaded wrap and a motif jacket for that particular book. The chapter on the motif jacket had so many photos and illustrations and step by step instructions to accompany my pattern. I was impressed.

When I heard that Sharon was writing a book about Tunisian Crochet, I thought it would be very good. I received the book in the mail recently, and upon first glance, Sharon's signature attention to detail sets the tone for this instructional book.

"Tunsian Crochet: The Look of Knitting With the Ease of Crocheting" is an excellent instructional book for anyone interested in learning tunisian crochet. The many varied techniques are presented beautifully with many step out photos and illustrations. And, there is a wide range of patterns that support the techniques. In addition, you will find many varied patterns to support the techniques.

Sharon designed sixteen projects for apparel, accessories, and home decor with her signature detailed instructions. Readers will learn how to make wearable items such as a chain mail scarf, child's jumper, honeycomb skirt, and man's vest. Home decor projects include an ottoman cover, placemats, afghan, pillow, and more--all using Tunisian crochet techniques.

Here are a few photos of the projects:
