New Kristin Pattern: Broomstick Lace Scarf or Wrap

211509-737260-thumbnail.jpgKristin's latest pattern is easy enough for an absolute beginner in crochet: Broomstick Lace. Its a fun technique, perfect for lacy fabric with lots of drape. The pattern includes the technique and instructions for a small scarf and a large wrap.

The sample scarf is worked with a K/10.5 crochet hook and a US50 knitting needle and a bulky mohair yarn. The sample shawl is worked with a dk weight yarn using a G/6 crochet hook and a US15 or US17 knitting needle. 211509-737280-thumbnail.jpg

This technique would be really pretty with many textured yarns, like ribbon, cords, cables or mohair. The long wraps accentuate the texture of the yarn.
