Crochet Me Book Launch Party - What fun!

1637538-868006-thumbnail.jpgI could not have imagined a better day! Skeins on Main hosted a beautiful party for the Crochet Me Book Event: flowers, hors d'oeuvrers, champange punch and ambience. Interweave Press sent us a beautiful and delicious cookie with an edible photo of the book cover. And we had many wonderful, sweet and enthusiastic crocheters in attendance.

1637538-868075-thumbnail.jpgIt was an open house setting, so people came and went all day. The party started at 1:00pm and we had a nice crowd from the beginning. We had a champagne toast right away and the party had begun! I talked about Kim Werker's website from creation to completion (CrochetMe.com), and her vision for the book. I explained how the book came about, and then went on to explain how I designed my contribution. While I didn't have the sample garment from the book, I brought along my swatch which really helped everyone appreciate the luxurious hand of the Tilli Tomas silks and sequins.

1637538-868080-thumbnail.jpgI signed a lot of book, and enjoyed it very much. Later on, we cut the cookie and sampled it: delicious! We talked about crochet (of course!) and some people had questions. One person even asked for a demonstration of some stitching techniques, and I happily obliged.

I was signing books up until we locked the doors at 4:00pm. We had people from around the corner, and even some people who drove over an hour to come. I want to thank each and every one that came to share in our celebration today. I appreciate your time and effort to join us. Now, don't be shy - send me the photos of your Crochet Me garments and I'll start a new photo gallery here on the website. And a special thank you to Kim, Jaime, John, Dhurat and Kristine. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
